How to Crop Videos in Kinemaster?

To crop a video in Kinemaster, follow these steps.

  1. Open Kinemaster: To start, launch the Kinemaster app on your smartphone or tablet. If you haven’t already installed it, you can download it from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Once you open the app, you will be greeted with the main interface where you can start a new project or continue editing an existing one.
  2. Create a New Project: After opening Kinemaster, tap on the “Create New Project” button. You’ll then need to choose the aspect ratio for your video. The aspect ratio determines the dimensions of your video frame. Common options include 16:9 for standard videos, 9:16 for vertical videos (perfect for social media platforms like Instagram or TikTok), and 1:1 for square videos. Select the one that suits your project, depending on where you plan to share the final video.
  3. Add Your Video: Once you’ve created your project, you need to add the video you want to edit. Tap the “Media” button, which is typically located in the left-hand panel of the interface. This will open your device’s gallery or file manager. Browse through your files and select the video you wish to crop. Once selected, the video will be added to the timeline, where you can edit it further.
  4. Select the Video Layer: In Kinemaster, everything you add to the timeline is considered a “layer.” After adding your video, you need to tap on the video layer in the timeline to select it. You’ll know it’s selected when a border or outline appears around it. This tells Kinemaster that you want to edit this specific video layer.
  5. Access the Crop Tool: With the video layer selected, you’ll see several options in the toolbar above the timeline. Look for the “Crop” button. It might appear directly in the toolbar or may be hidden under a submenu, such as “Layer” depending on your app version. Tap the “Crop” option, and your video will enter crop mode, where you can manually adjust which portion of the video is visible.
  6. Adjust the Crop: Once you’re in crop mode, Kinemaster will display a movable crop frame on your video. You’ll see handles (small circles) at each corner and along the sides of the frame. To crop your video, tap and drag these handles to resize the crop area. You can also move the entire frame by dragging it around to reposition the area that you want to keep in the final video. This step is crucial for focusing on specific parts of the video while excluding unwanted areas.
  7. Apply the Crop: After adjusting the crop frame to your liking, you’ll need to apply the changes. Look for a checkmark or an “Apply” button, usually located at the top or bottom of the screen, and tap it to confirm the crop. The video will now be cropped, and only the area within the crop frame will remain visible, while the rest will be cut out.
  8. Finish and Export: Once you’ve cropped your video and made any other edits you need (such as adding text, music, or transitions), it’s time to export the final product. Tap the export button (usually located in the top-right corner of the app). You will be prompted to select your desired resolution and frame rate before saving the video to your device. After exporting, your cropped video will be ready to share or upload wherever you need it.

By following these detailed steps, you can easily crop your video in Kinemaster, giving you more control over your footage and allowing you to focus on the most important parts of your video.
