How to Use Preset in Alight Motion?

To use a preset in Alight Motion, follow these steps.

  1. Open Alight Motion: The first step is to launch the Alight Motion app on your mobile device. If you haven’t installed it yet, you can download it from the Google Play Store (for Android) or the App Store (for iOS). Once the app is open, you will be greeted with the main screen where you can either create a new project or open an existing one.
  2. Create or Open a Project: If you’re starting fresh, tap the “Create New Project” button. This will allow you to choose your project settings, such as resolution, aspect ratio, and frame rate. If you’re working on a project you’ve previously started, simply tap on it from the list of recent projects to open it. If you’re just starting out, you can also import any media (images, videos, etc.) that you plan to use in the project.
  3. Import Media (if necessary): If your project requires media elements (like video clips, images, or audio), you can import them into the project by tapping on the “+” icon or the “Add Media” button. Alight Motion allows you to import media from your device’s gallery, so you can select the files you need and add them to the project timeline. These media items will appear as layers that you can apply effects to.
  4. Select the Layer: Once you have your media on the timeline, you need to select the specific layer (image, video, text, etc.) to which you want to apply a preset. Tap on the layer in the timeline to select it. The selected layer will become highlighted, and the effects panel will show the options available for that particular layer.
  5. Access the Presets: After selecting the layer, tap the “Effects” button located at the bottom of the screen, represented by a magic wand icon. This will open the effects menu. Next, tap on the “Preset” tab, which is where you can find pre-designed effects created by other users or provided by the app itself. The presets are grouped into categories such as color grading, transitions, animations, and more. You can scroll through the available presets or search for a specific one using the search bar.
  6. Choose a Preset: Once you have accessed the preset library, browse through the available presets, which are usually categorized for specific effects like animations, color corrections, or transitions. You can tap on a preset to preview it on your selected layer. Some presets may have animations that will affect how the media behaves on the screen, while others may focus on visual effects like color changes or blurs.
  7. Apply the Preset: After selecting the preset you want, simply tap on it, and it will be automatically applied to the selected layer. The effect will be immediately visible on the timeline and the preview window. Alight Motion typically applies presets with default settings, but you can adjust the settings to fit your needs. For example, you might want to change the intensity of a color preset or adjust the duration of an animation.
  8. Preview and Adjust: Once the preset is applied, it’s important to preview your project to ensure everything looks as expected. You can use the timeline to navigate through the video and check how the preset affects the layer over time. If you need to make adjustments, you can go back into the effects panel to tweak the preset’s parameters, such as speed, intensity, or timing. If you’re not satisfied with the preset, you can always remove it or choose another one.
  9. Save Your Work: After you’re satisfied with how your project looks and the preset is applied properly, it’s time to save or export your work. Tap the export button (usually an icon with an arrow pointing upwards or similar) to save your project. You can export it in different formats, such as video or image, depending on your needs. Ensure that you select the proper export settings (like resolution and frame rate) for your intended use.

By using presets in Alight Motion, you can save time while adding complex effects to your videos and images. These presets offer a range of professional-grade effects that can be easily customized to suit your project’s style and requirements.
