How to Add Fade-In and Fade-Out Effects on InShot?

To add a fade-in and fade-out effect in InShot, follow these steps.

Fade-In Effect:

To apply a fade-in effect to the beginning of your video:

  1. Open InShot: Start by launching the InShot app on your device. Tap the “Video” option to create a new project, and then select the video clip you want to work with from your gallery or camera roll.
  2. Select the Video Clip: Once your video is loaded into the timeline, tap on the clip where you want to add the fade-in effect. This will highlight the clip and bring up editing options.
  3. Navigate to the ‘Canvas’ Tab: At the bottom of the screen, you will see several tabs like “Music,” “Text,” “Sticker,” and “Canvas.” Tap on “Canvas” to open additional options for video editing.
  4. Add the Fade-In Transition: In the Canvas section, you’ll see a “Transition” button (represented by an icon like two arrows or a fade symbol, depending on the version). Tap on the “Transition” button. This will bring up a list of transition effects that can be applied between clips.
  5. Choose the Fade Effect: From the available transitions, select the “Fade” option. This will apply a smooth fade effect to the beginning of your video. You can adjust the duration of the fade by dragging the transition bar, which determines how slowly the video will fade in from black (or the starting background).

Fade-Out Effect:

To apply a fade-out effect to the end of your video:

  1. Select the End of the Video Clip: Tap on the video clip at the end (where you want the fade-out to happen). This will bring up the same set of editing options that you used for the fade-in effect.
  2. Navigate to the ‘Transition’ Option: Just like with the fade-in effect, tap the “Transition” option to open the list of available transitions.
  3. Choose the Fade-Out Transition: Look for the “Fade” transition option in the list, and select it. This will apply the fade effect to the end of your video. The video will gradually fade to black (or to whatever background you’re using) as it concludes.
  4. Adjust the Fade Duration: You can adjust the duration of the fade-out by dragging the transition slider. This lets you control how long it will take for the video to fade out completely.

By adjusting the duration of both fade-in and fade-out transitions, you can create a smooth, professional effect for your video, making the beginning and ending feel more polished. These fade transitions help add a cinematic touch to your clips and make them more visually appealing.
