How to Blend Photo in PicsArt?
To blend a photo in PicsArt, follow these steps.
1. Open PicsArt
The first step is to open the PicsArt app on your device. If you haven’t already installed it, you can download it from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). Once opened, you’ll land on the home screen. From here, tap the “+” icon at the bottom to start a new project.
2. Choose the Photo
After tapping the “+” button, you’ll be prompted to select the photos you want to use. You can choose from your phone’s gallery or camera roll. Start by selecting the main image (the background photo) that you want to blend the second photo into. This will serve as your base layer. Once chosen, the image will open in the editor where you can start working on it.
3. Overlay the Second Photo
To blend the second photo onto the first, tap the “Add Photo” option. This allows you to layer another image on top of the background photo. After selecting the second image, you can adjust its size, rotation, and position by dragging and pinching the image with your fingers. Use this tool to align the second photo where you want it to appear on the base image. You may want the overlay to cover a specific area, so carefully adjust its placement.
4. Apply Blend Mode
Once the second photo is positioned correctly, it’s time to blend it with the background. To do this, select the second image layer (the one you just added). In the toolbar at the top or under the “Layer” or “Tools” menu, you’ll find a “Blend” option. When you tap this, you will be presented with different blending modes like Multiply, Screen, Overlay, Soft Light, Hard Light, and others. Each mode affects how the images interact, from making the overlay darker to enhancing the brightness. Experiment with different blend modes until you find one that suits the effect you want.
5. Adjust Opacity
After applying a blend mode, you may want to make the overlay photo more subtle. To do this, adjust the opacity of the second image. Opacity controls the transparency of the photo, allowing the background image to show through more or less. Lowering the opacity will make the overlay more transparent and allow more of the base photo to show. This can help create a more natural and seamless blend between the two images.
6. Use the Eraser Tool (Optional)
If you want to refine the blend, the Eraser tool is a great option. Tap on the “Eraser” icon in the toolbar to erase parts of the second photo that you don’t want to show. You can adjust the size, hardness, and opacity of the eraser brush to control how much you erase. This is especially useful for cleaning up edges or if the overlay image covers areas of the background you don’t want to hide. Using this tool ensures a cleaner, more blended effect, especially around the edges of the overlay.
7. Finalize and Save
Once you’re satisfied with how the images are blended, it’s time to finalize the edit. Tap the checkmark icon (usually in the upper right corner) to confirm your changes. Afterward, you can save the image to your device by tapping the download or save icon. If you want to share your creation, PicsArt also allows you to share directly to social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter right from the app.
By following these detailed steps, you can blend photos in PicsArt effectively, creating stunning and creative compositions.
