How to Crop Videos With Kinemaster?

To crop videos using Kinemaster, follow these steps.

  1. Open Kinemaster
Start by launching the Kinemaster app on your device. If you haven’t already installed the app, you can download it from the Google Play Store for Android or the Apple App Store for iOS. Once opened, you’ll be greeted with Kinemaster’s home interface. Here, you can either create a new project or open an existing one.
  2. Create or Open a Project
To start editing, tap the large “+” (plus) icon to create a new project. You’ll be prompted to select an aspect ratio, such as 16:9 (landscape), 9:16 (portrait), or 1:1 (square). Choose the one that best suits your needs. Alternatively, if you already have a project in progress, you can select it from your project list.
  3. Import the Video
Once you’ve created or opened a project, tap the “Media” button located on the circular toolbar on the right side of the screen. This will open your media library, where you can browse and select the video you want to crop. After selecting, the video will be added to the editing timeline.
  4. Select the Video Layer
With the video now on the timeline, tap on the video clip to select it. A yellow outline will appear around the clip, indicating that it’s active and ready for editing. Selecting the clip enables various editing tools in the menu above the timeline.
  5. Open the Crop Tool
Look for the “Trim & Split” button, typically represented by a scissors icon. Tap on it to reveal different trimming options. Among these, you’ll find the “Crop to Fill” option. This tool allows you to crop the visible area of your video without resizing the entire frame.
  6. Adjust the Crop
Once the cropping interface opens, a rectangular frame will appear over your video. Use your fingers to drag the corners or edges of the frame to adjust the visible portion of the video. Pinch or zoom within the crop frame to make precise adjustments. This lets you focus on the part of the video that’s most important while removing unnecessary areas.
  7. Apply the Crop
After adjusting the crop to your satisfaction, tap the checkmark button (usually found at the top-right corner of the screen) to save the changes. The cropped area will now define what is displayed in the video during playback.
  8. Export the Video
Once you’ve completed cropping and any other edits, it’s time to save your work. Tap the “Export” button, typically represented by a share or upward arrow icon, located in the top-right corner of the screen. Choose your desired resolution and quality settings, then tap “Export” again to save the cropped video to your device or share it directly to social media platforms.

These steps will help you crop videos effectively in Kinemaster, allowing you to customize the content to fit your creative needs.
