How to Extract Audio from Videos in Alight Motion?

In Alight Motion, you can extract audio from a video by following these steps.

1. Import the Video

The first step in extracting audio is to open Alight Motion and start a new project. When you launch the app, tap the “+” icon to create a new project. You’ll then be prompted to choose the aspect ratio and resolution for your project. Afterward, tap the Import Media button to select the video file you want to work with from your device’s gallery or storage. Once you’ve selected the video, it will be added to your project.

2. Add the Video to the Timeline

After importing the video, you’ll need to drag it onto the timeline at the bottom of the screen. The timeline is where you can edit and arrange the various layers of your project, such as the video, audio, and other elements like text or effects. The video will appear as a layer on the timeline, and from here, you can adjust its position, length, or other settings. This is also the point where you’ll work with the audio.

3. Separate Audio

To extract the audio from your video, tap on the video clip that you added to the timeline. This will bring up various settings for the video clip, including options to adjust its properties, such as the speed or position. To access the audio settings, you need to look for the “Sound” icon or tap on the “Audio” option in the menu. When you open this section, you will find an option that allows you to “Detach” or “Extract” the audio. Once you select this option, the audio will be separated from the video and placed on its own audio layer beneath the video layer in the timeline. This will allow you to manipulate the audio independently of the video.

4. Export the Audio (Optional)

If you want to save the audio as a separate file, you can mute the video layer by clicking on the video layer and turning off its sound. Once the video layer is muted, the audio will still play on its own, and you can export the project with just the audio. To do this, tap the Export button (usually found in the top right corner of the screen) and choose the appropriate export settings. Make sure to select an audio format for the export, if you want only the audio file. Once the export is complete, you’ll have the audio file saved separately from the video.

These steps should help you easily extract audio from videos using Alight Motion, whether you’re planning to keep the video and audio together or save the audio separately for other uses.
