How to Replace a Picture in Alight Motion?

To replace a picture in Alight Motion, follow these steps.

1. Open Your Project

First, you need to open Alight Motion on your device. Once the app is launched, navigate to the project that contains the image you wish to replace. If you have multiple projects, you can find your specific project by browsing through your list of saved projects. Tap on the project to open it and enter the editing workspace, where you can see the timeline and the layers of your animation or video.

2. Select the Image Layer

Once inside your project, you’ll see a timeline at the bottom of the screen, showing all the layers you’ve created. Look through the layers and identify the one that contains the image you want to replace. Each layer is represented as a small thumbnail of the content inside it. Tap on the image layer to select it. When selected, the layer will highlight, indicating that it is active and ready for editing.

3. Delete or Replace

At this point, you have two options:

  • Delete the Image: If you want to completely remove the current image, tap the trash icon at the bottom of the screen. This will delete the image layer, but be aware that if you have any animations or effects applied to that layer, those will also be removed.
  • Replace the Image: If you don’t want to remove the layer entirely but just replace the image within that layer, you can tap the layer and then tap the Add button (the plus icon). This will open your device’s gallery or file browser, where you can select a new image from your photos or files. Once selected, the new image will replace the old one within the same layer.

4. Adjust the New Image

After the new image is added, it might not fit perfectly into the original frame or position. This is normal, especially if the new image has different dimensions from the original one. You will need to adjust the new image to match the layout or composition of the previous image. Tap on the new image to select it, and then use the resizing handles or positioning tools to adjust its size, placement, or rotation. You can also use the “Crop” tool if necessary to fit the image into the desired space.

5. Save Your Changes

After you have successfully replaced and adjusted the image, it’s important to save your progress. To do this, tap the save icon, usually located at the top or bottom of the screen. Alight Motion will automatically save your changes within the project, but it’s always a good practice to periodically save your work to avoid losing progress. If you’re ready to export your video or animation, you can also choose to export the final version once all edits are complete.

By following these steps, you can easily replace an image in your Alight Motion project while maintaining the structure and style of your overall design.
