Past Continuous Tense(Passive Voice)

Past Continuous Tense or Past Progressive Tense(Passive Voice) is used to indicate the progressive or continuous actions that were in passive mode and had been practiced during the past time. Active Voice Sentences of Past Continuous Tense or Past Progressive Tense can be converted to Passive Voice Sentences, just by following the following General Rules.

Rules to Convert Past Continuous Tense(Active Voice) Sentences to Passive Voice Sentences

Following are some rules, that must be followed to convert the Active Voice Sentences of Past Continuous Tense into Passive Voice form.

  • First of all, convert the Object(me, us, you, them, him, her, it) of Past Continuous Tense(Active Voice) Sentences into the Subject(I, we, you, they, he, she, it) of the Passive Voice Sentences.
  • Then, use “was being/were being” as helping verbs to show that action is in progressing stage during the past time.
  • Then, use the 3rd Verb to indicate that the action is in a Passive state.
